Effects of Indianization
Generally speaking, Indianization influenced both society and the state of Indianized empires and surrounding areas.
Here, society refers to the various groups of people in the empire, including merchants, daily people and royals. The impacts on society may be social, cultural or even economic in nature.
Meanwhile, the state would refer to the larger political order. A special thing to take note of is that the term state here loosely refers to a polity, as modern day states are defined by political boundaries. Meanwhile, Indianized empires and other polities in Southeast Asia were often defined by their centres rather than their boundaries. This resulted in several polities co-existing more-or-less harmoniously in close proximity to each other.
